About Me

I am first and foremost, a professionally Certified Clinical Interventionist in my own practice, and have worked with families in crisis, dealing with addiction and psychiatric disorders for over 25 years.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in CT and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY with offices and a private psychotherapy practice in both locations.  My professional life has included both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings.  As a Love First ( www.lovefirst.net ) certified Clinical Interventionist, I am a member of the Association of Intervention Specialists and the American Counseling Association and have traveled nationally and internationally for my intervention work.

With locations that are commuting distance from NYC in Greenwich, CT and Rye, NY, my training and exposure make it comfortable to work with high profile, high net worth clients and be both confident and understanding regarding their particular issues.  However, I travel anywhere and am privileged to work with anyone in need of recovery from substances or who is suffering from a behavior that has spun out of control.   While the bulk of my intervention work is done with alcoholism and drug abuse, I have also worked with sex and love addiction, trauma, eating disorders, and psychiatric crisis interventions.  I hold a bachelor's degree in Communications and Psychology from Ohio University and a Master's degree in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary.  I completed post graduate studies in business at Case Western Reserve in Ohio and post graduate studies in counseling at Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in NY.

Since 2007, I worked as an independently contracted leading therapist and interventionist at the Center for Hope & Renewal ( www.hopeandrenewal.org ) in Greenwich, CT.  Early in 2012, I opened a practice under my own name to expand my availability and have exposure to a broader community that included a national presence.  Having worked professionally in an inpatient psychiatric hospital at Western Reserve Psychiatric Center in Cleveland, and an outpatient treatment center for alcohol and drug abuse in NY, I am comfortable working with clients who are complex, including those who may have co-occurring disorders and are often cross-addicted.  For 5 years, it has also been my privilege to serve as a clinician for the Military Support Program of CT (serving all branches of the military active duty and reserves) and be an embedded clinician with the 102nd Infantry of the CT National Guard.

I welcome referrals from former clients, rehab centers, professionals, families, and anyone in need of assistance or a consultation.  Please feel free to call me at 203 898-2512.
